Today we moved our rigs from Red Point Provincial Park to Vacationlands RV Park in Brackley Beach, PEI, about an hour and a half's drive. Brackley Beach is on the north shore of the central part of the island. The drive was through farmland with several ocean views. We will be here five nights exploring central PEI.
One of the signs we passed read, "Welcome to Stanhope, the oldest Scottish settlement in PEI. There is evidence of a lot of Scottish influence in the area. A stanhope is a type of open horse-drawn carriage with one seat and either two or four wheels. It's a good crossword puzzle word.
Patrice and I went for dinner tonight at The New Glasgow Old Mill Restaurant--scallops and halibut and a strawberry/rhubarb crisp with ice cream for desert.
